MoMA Design Store partnered with HAY to create an exclusive collection of essentials for the kitchen, called the HAY KITCHEN MARKET. Hay’s co-founder, Mette Hay, enlisted Danish chef and restaurateur Brederik Bille Brahe to help hand-select the most fundamental accessories for today’s kitchen. Upon opening a café with Frederik during Milan Design Week, they were inspired to analyze what aspects create a useful and intriguing kitchen.
Drawing inspiration from Frederik’s own industrial-style kitchen, the collection combines the vitality and functionality of everyday kitchenware with the passion of HAY design. The collection reinvents and repurposes products readily available from around the world, whether it be glasses from Morocco, water pitchers from India, or sponges from India, all products were skillfully curated for the collection.
The collection also features specially selected products by the likes of BIG-GAME, Shane Schneck, Clara Von Zweigbergk, Richard Woods, and George Sowden. The considerable selection of textures and colors allows for individuals to create an assortment of products customized to their personal preferences.
