Mark your calendars, London Design Festival is happening next month from September 15-23 and returning alongside it is designjunction, now in its eighth year. From September 20-23, designjunction will take over London’s South Bank to host a variety of exhibitions, installations, retail experiences, talks and workshops showcasing the best of London and international design.
There are three key venues: Doon Street (which will feature furniture, lighting, and retail experiences), Riverside Walkway (where the outdoor installations will take place), and Oxo Tower Wharf (where you can find all the brand activations, exhibitions and experiential events).
On Doon Street, established international design brands and emerging designers will showcase their latest collections inside the two-floor purpose built super-structure, the largest build designjunction has ever undertaken.
There will be new faces at this year’s show including New Tendency, who will be showcasing their Bauhaus-inspired furniture, and Broste Copenhagen, who brings a fresh take on Danish design to London with their collection of furniture and ceramics.
You won’t be in the dark when it comes to the latest lighting collections on the market. Marset will launch the multi-colored Dipping light designed by Jordi Canudas, ANDlight will unveil three new families of lighting, and Bethan Gray will present her Victoria collection inspired by her original Victoria tea set.
We love seeing how design can elevate everyday furniture, spaces and accessories. VitrA’s new Plural collection for bathing spaces designed by Terri Pecora encourages socializing and reconnecting with family; Nolii’s tech line will change the way you look at cables and charging accessories; and KIVA, a Finnish furniture brand, has designed a customizable shelving system that utilizes a patented push-n-lock system and built-in lights to give you the perfect #shelfie.
Be sure to have your wallets ready because you’ll want to shop all the pop-up shops on Doon Street.
Kite will make you want to add another pair of frames to your collection of eyewear, and you might leave the show with some new sparkle after checking out Alex Oreo’s collection of pendants, cuffs and rings. If you don’t have the hands to carry everything, Billy Tannery’s line of sustainable leather bags can help you schlep everything home.
There are more details to be announced soon for the Riverside Walkway and Oxo Tower Wharf but just know that designjunction will be joining 25 designer-maker stores alongside renowned brands like Innermost, Black & Blum, Bodo Sperlein, and more.
Excited? So are we. Will we see you there? Get your tickets for designjunction at www.thedesignjunction.co.uk/en/tickets.
