Stellar Works has recently unveiled their first collaboration with Tokyo-based studio Nendo of their distinctive collections: Blend, Frame, and Kite. The three collections combine Nendo’s design expertise and meticulous process together with Stellar Works’ technical prowess and craftsmanship.
The collection consists of a barstool, an armchair, and a mirror system. The barstool, with the moniker of ‘Blend,’ is a three-legged stool constructed of metal with a solid wood or upholstered seat. The main design feature is the formation of the legs and seat-back, which give it the airy appearance.
Kite is a compact armchair designed with commercial and hospitality usage in mind, particularly small spaces. Attempts at minimizing the real estate of an armchair eventually leaves to the gradual reduction of the backrest, however, Nendo decided to adjoin the backrest with the seat in order to create the greatest yield in comfort without sacrifice to space.
Lastly, Frame is an L-shaped mirror system designed for multi-use purposes. The system can introduce either a towel rack hung on the wall, or a free-standing floor mirror with garment racks. The system can be further expanded and customized using smaller circular mirrors or longer elliptical mirrors used in combination with shelves and towel bars.
