Israeli-born, Manhattan-based Sharon Blaustein heads up the full-service interior design firm, B Interior. After attending The New York School of Interior Design, she earned an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Interior Design before going to work at noted architectural firm ODA-Architecture. Since setting out on her own, she has kept busy with an ever-growing portfolio of residential projects in New York City and Westchester, which showcase her uncanny ability to bridge a modern, sophisticated aesthetic with a functional and inviting living space. This week’s Friday Five gives Blaustein an opportunity to share a few of her favorite things.
1. Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv is where I was born and grew up, it continues to inspire me. I love going back every year to this city that never stops with its beautiful beaches, amazing food and Israeli chutzpa.
2. Bella
I love our family’s beloved Golden Doodle. She is the sweetest most loving creature in the world. She is a big puppy and we always think about her as an elephant in a china store when she storms around the house.
3. Patricia Urquiola
Patricia Urquiola is an iconic Spanish architect and designer. She designs anything from furniture, to tiles, carpets and tea kettles. Her designs are playful and colorful and she is a master of mixing styles, patterns and materials. Although my color palette is typically more monochromatic, I admire her ability to make it all work together!
4. Poliform:
A premiere Italian furniture and kitchen manufacturer that I adore. The brand’s pieces are stylish, timeless and the craftsmanship is superb. I use them all the time for a variety of clients.
5. Chardonnay
Nothing like a cold glass of Chardonnay at the end of a long day!
