Bocci 84 Pendant by Omer Arbel

Bocci 84 Pendant by Omer Arbel

84 is one of the latest fixtures from Vancouver- and Berlin-based Bocci, who premiered the piece at this year’s Euroluce during Salone del Mobile. Designed by Omer Arbel, the piece is made when white glass is poured into a copper mesh basket that’s then dipped into hot clear glass. Air is blown to help push the white glass through the holes of the mesh so that it’s suspended within the glass. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece where the mesh has moved and folded differently as the molten glass moves through and around it.

Another result of the handmade production process is the slight variations of the exterior shape, which helps give each pendant their own look. The undulating exterior of the glass magnifies the suspended mesh inside creating beautiful visuals as only glass does.

84 is available in various configurations and comes outfitted with an LED bulb that casts a warm, coppery glow.
