When you picture a modern living room, you might have Paul McCobb to thank for that vision. Known as one of the leading voices in American modern design, McCobb’s portfolio is full of enduring pieces that seem as though they were designed just yesterday. Now, for the first time in half a century, CB2 is producing some of his timeless furniture, lighting and outdoor pieces from the 1950s in the Paul McCobb Collection.
McCobb was a pioneer for modern furniture and his pieces are just as influential today as when they graced the first set of The Today Show or the offices of Columbia Records in the ’60s. This collection is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to curate and deliver authentic, timeless design and we’re proud to bring back this piece of modern heritage.

Closely curated and developed in partnership with FORM Portfolios, whose mission is to preserve, protect and celebrate designers through the authentic translation of iconic works, the CB2 x Paul McCobb collection features 36 products. The Pavillion Collection (outdoor), the Exposior Collection (lighting) and the Connoisseur Collection (bedroom) reintroduce his covetable, yet attainable, designs that will fit in with nearly every home’s aesthetic.
The outdoor Pavilion Collection features simple forms and materials, just a few reasons Paul McCobb could be found in design magazines of then and the museums of today. These classic pieces have been updated with features such as Sunbrella fabric. The Exposior Collection was McCobb’s second series of lighting, and each major component is a custom design unique to the category. And in the Connoisseur Collection slender lines, fine veneers and architectural influences are eye-catching to this day. Excitingly, additional pieces and categories will be introduced in future collections.
Paul McCobb is the first of several iconic designers CB2 will partner with over the next two years to bring modern objects that endure back to the marketplace.
