On a recent trip to Tokyo, I noticed something really interesting: everyone carried totes as their bag of choice, from men and women to teenagers and guys in suits. In my opinion, a city like Los Angeles really appreciates the design in a designer handbag while a city like Tokyo cares more about the simple functionality of a bag: carrying all your stuff! I really liked the look of a great outfit paired with a simple canvas tote and am now pulling out all of mine for the spring.
