Dessert lovers rejoice! It’s winter aka the perfect time of the year to treat your tastebuds to deliciously sweet comfort food. But rather than giving in to store-bought sweets, stay warm from the inside out with these seriously easy and satisfying dessert recipes!

Roasted Strawberry Crumble (via Taste)

What You’ll Need

  • 375g strawberries, hulled, halved
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 35g butter
  • 2 tablespoons flaked almonds
  • Vanilla custard, to serve

How To Master The Dish

1. Preheat oven to 220C/200C fan-forced. Lightly grease a 16cm x 26cm shallow roasting pan. Add strawberries and half the sugar. Toss to coat.

2. Combine flour and remaining sugar in a medium bowl. Add butter. Using fingertips, rub butter into flour mixture until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add almonds. Stir to combine. Sprinkle over strawberry mixture, pressing dough together with fingers to make small lumps.

3. Bake for 15 minutes or until top is golden and crisp. Serve with vanilla custard.

What You’ll Need

  • 2 almond croissants, roughly torn
  • 3 pain au raisins, roughly torn
  • 400g brioche loaf, roughly torn
  • 100g unsalted butter, melted, cooled
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup (220g) caster sugar
  • 600ml pure (thin) cream
  • 600ml milk
  • Finely grated zest of 1 orange
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Icing sugar, to dust

How To Master The Dish

1.Grease a 2L baking dish

2. Arrange the almond croissant pieces in the baking dish, then top with layer of pain au raisins pieces and finish with a layer of brioche.

3. Whisk the butter, eggs, sugar, cream, milk, orange zest and vanilla together in a bowl until just combined. Pour over the pastries and brioche, then stand for 3-4 hours to allow the cream mixture to soak in and the flavours to develop.

4. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

5. Bake the pudding for 1 hour or until just set. Dust with icing sugar and serve alone or with some fruit.

Cinnamon Baked Pears (via Taste)

What You’ll Need

  • 4 ripe Beurre Bosc pears, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • tablespoon butter
  • 1/3 cup light vanilla Fruche, to serve

How To Master The Dish

1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Cut each pear in half and stand on a piece of foil large enough to enclose 2 halves. Sprinkle with combined sugar and cinnamon. Dot with butter. Wrap in foil. Place on a baking tray.

2. Bake pears for 30 minutes or until tender. Place in bowls. Pour over sauce from inside foil. Serve with Fruche.
