To mark Cassina’s 90th anniversary, the company enlisted its Art Director, architect and designer Patricia Urquiola, to renovate their historic headquarters in Meda, Italy. The project included restoring the courtyard entrance and creating a new communal area to welcome guests, while breathing new life into these special headquarters.
The ‘Galleria’ is for employees and guests alike and now boasts a soothing palette of greens and blues, along with the installation of Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret’s futuristic Refuge Tonneau. The mobile shelter was originally designed in 1938 and was recreated in 2012 by Cassina, who closely studied the original sketches and documents to make it a reality. The structure was installed so people can enjoy a quiet moment during their work day.
The light-filled room is now home to a massive wall of plants that add warmth and color to an overall cold space.
