Fizi is a series of minimal lights designed by Australia-based studio Articolo. The collection is characterized by its “effervescent effect” that is caused by how the glass is blown. The spherical glass form sits atop a pedestal in brass and mid bronze with a contrasting marble ribbon.
The artisanal qualities of the glass is further explored through the dramatic Fizi Slab, a piece of lighting that took 12 months to create, and extends the collection’s spherical orb into an elongated organic form. Nicci Green, creative director of Articolo explains, “The unpredictable nature of mouth-blown glass means the organic shape of Fizi Slab cannot be entirely controlled. This beautiful reality means each piece is genuinely unique.”
An effect of effervescent bubbles cascade through the pendant and wall sconce, reminiscent of champagne both in color and detail. Furthermore, the illumination source is carefully concealed to create a jewel-like effect that dissolves the bubbled light into its surroundings.
