New York-based design co-op Colony, in collaboration with Ventura Projects, is putting on an exhibit of process-driven Dutch design. Featuring work from seven top Dutch designers – Aleksandra Gaca, Aliki van der Kruijs, Alissa+Nienke, Rick Tegelaar, Studio Jeroen Wand, Studio Kalff, and Studio Nienke Hoogvliet – the show was curated by Jean Lin, founder of Colony and Margriet Vollenberg, founder of Ventura Projects. Highlights include Alissa+Nienka’s reactive surface design, 3D-printed Colback panels from Rick Tegelaar, and fish skin leather developed out of industry waste by Studio Nienke.
The collection is the result of researching how production methods directly influence the form and function of the objects being created without hiding their beauty. You can see the exhibit yourself September 12th through December 20th, 2019 at 324 Canal St, 2nd Fl, New York, New York.
