Heymat has been on our radar for a few years now with their floor mats that merge the high quality of industrial mats with Scandinavian design. The Norwegian brand’s latest collection, Foliage designed by Oslo-based designer Kristine Five Melvær, lets you bring a bit of nature into your home via three colorways and a pattern inspired by Mother Earth.
Since their launch in 2015, Heymat has worked to make the products and their production process as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible. In 2017 they moved to a new material from 50% recycled plastic that offered a better absorption capacity. And now, they’re made with a 100% recycled plastic (PET) textile. Depending on the size, one Heymat now reuses 33-82 plastic bottles (.5 liter)! The mats come with an anti-slip backing in nitrile rubber to ensure they stay right where they’re placed. When it’s time for a cleaning, you can either vacuum them or throw them in a domestic washing machine at 140°F.
Foliage mats are available in a 60cm x 85cm (24in x 33in) size and a 85cm x 115cm (33in x 45in) size, and come in Blue Dusk, Silver Night and Green Dawn.
