Design and craft company Swedese is updating some classic designs with new materials and colors for their 2021 collection. The furniture and home decor collection, composed by interior designer Tina Hellberg, creates a cohesive series using an earthy color scale alongside the brand’s often used woods. The result feels harmonious and welcoming, in other words, spot on. “Over the last year, we have carried out extensive work with the Swedese brand, covering everything from how we express ourselves in words and images to how we categorize our range, all the time with a focus on the future and a clear connection to our roots,” shared Elias Stenberg, Marketing Manager.
The Amstelle armchair, designed by Khodi Feiz, works well in both public and private environments. It’s now available with legs in white pigmented oak or cream-colored steel, as well as the original oak or ash. Amstelle is available in two different designs on upholstery in different colors.
The Pond table, designed by Monica Förster, now comes with the opportunity to choose from several material choices for both table top and legs. For example, a table top of red stone and black legs, or a table top in light gray limestone with black legs. The table top is available in stone from Öland, limestone, granite or ash, and the legs are available in black, red, gray and light gray.
Inspired by northern Sweden’s snow-covered landscape, the Avavick stool designed by Katja Pettersson is now available in untreated beech as well as lacquered beechwood in new colors (beige pink, amber glow, persimmon, afternoon sun and lemon & crème). Avavick is part of A New Collection, which was specially designed for the Swedish National Museum’s restaurant.
The Savoa table, designed by Sakari Hartikainen, is an organically-shaped standout. It’s available in oak (lacquered, oiled or white pigmented), in different heights and with different sizes of table top.
The Comma series, consisting of mirrors and trays and designed by Mia Lagerman, houses pieces that resemble the comma itself. The expressive mirrors and trays are made of bentwood, a favorite material of Swedese. They’re now available in black-stained ash or ash nature, and lacquered ash in English red and beige/pink.
Laminett is a smaller, more compact version of the Lamino chair, which was designed by Yngve Ekström in the 1950s. Now you can find it available in oiled walnut as well as a fabric called Espresso.
The Pile lamp, originally developed for the restaurant at the new National Museum in Stockholm by Matti Klenell, was inspired by Klenell’s first visit to Swedese in Vaggeryd. It’s now available for purchase in two variants.
