Few automotive models are remotely worthy of their own co-branded line of clothing, and fewer still arrive with the historic pedigree of the “go anywhere” capabilities of the Land Rover Defender, making it rather appropriate for the adventurous expression of British engineering to arrive with its very own matching collection of performance clothing and technical equipment.
Layering for changing conditions is a necessity when temperatures dip into teeth-chattering territory, and the Above and Beyond collection from British technical sportswear brand Musto for Land Rover is insulated for enduring harsh climates, yet always stylishly so.
The Welded Thermo Jacket’s 5-layers of waterproof shell fabric with polyester face not only keeps the wearer warm, but Musto lined the jacket’s pockets with PrimaLoft Aerogel to improve mobile device battery operation in extreme cold.
Contemporary technical aesthetics aside, Musto’s collection sports a slew of features suitable to complement the Land Rover Defender’s design and capabilities. Form follows function, enhanced by state-of-the-art material technology: the Welded Thermo Jacket features a RECCO integrated reflective antenna, intended to aid in instances where rescue teams might be searching in difficult terrain. Aerogel-lined pockets are made to protect digital devices from extreme cold, while COHÆSIVE cord locks permit quick, one-handed adjustments for times when you’d rather keep hands cozily in pockets, while black reflectors add yet another enhancement in low-light visibility situations.
