Assembledge+ Designs Three-Pavilion Laurel Hills Residence in Los Angeles

Assembledge+ Designs Three-Pavilion Laurel Hills Residence in Los Angeles

Assembledge+ completed a modern, single-story house in the heart of Los Angeles, right in the foothills of Laurel Canyon. The Laurel Hills Residence spans 4,900 square feet within three pavilions that are joined by a series of glass hallways. Resting at the front of the property clad in Western Red Cedar panels is the garage/guest house pavilion. Just beyond that volume are the two larger pavilions where all three join together to create an interior courtyard space. Another outdoor space on the other side of the living pavilion features a 40-foot-long swimming pool with indoor spaces that seamlessly extend to the backyard for easy outdoor entertaining.

Around back, sliding glass doors disappear to blend the family room, kitchen, and breakfast room with the outdoor patio space.

The living pavilion is outfitted with over 50 solar panels that allow the residence to be removed from the city’s power grid.

Oversized concrete pavers form a walkway through the olive tree filled courtyard to the front door or dining room if the sliding doors are open.

The entryway acts as the connector between the living pavilion and the sleeping one, which offers three bedrooms (including the master), a playroom, and an office.

The master bedroom’s corner window slides away making it feel like the room is outside.
