Small Biz Spotlight: Grouphug’s Window Solar Charger Is Changing Renewable Energy

We love it when we come across a product that has us scratching our heads and wondering how they can even keep it in stock – like Grouphug’s Window Solar Charger. The brand was founded by industrial designer Krystal Persaud, who after spending years as a toy designer decided to make the switch to design activism. The Window Solar Charger was featured on Shark Tank, and serves the purpose of charging your devices (iPhones, Android phones, smart watches, Airpods, bike lights, speakers, etc.) with the power of the sun. The source that keeps giving! The easy-to-install panel is suspended in one of your windows, and without being an eyesore allows you to charge devices day or night thanks to a built-in rechargeable battery. We know our own houses can always use an extra place to plug in, and the Window Solar Charger manages to look like home decor while doing it. While this solar charger won’t power your entire lifestyle, Persaud envisions Grouphug as your first step into solar energy. Many people are intimidated to get started, and they’d like that first step to be fun and easy. This week, from April 22 through April 25, it’s on sale for $119, and Grouphug will be donating 10% of sales to Vote Solar. Vote Solar is a nonprofit working to change renewable energy policy at a national level, and your actions could help push solar policy even further.
