Sydney’s Top 3 Watering Holes by BrandsExclusive

It’s wine o’clock in Sydney and you’re feeling thirsty – but where do you go? Before you go asking your uber driver for an unapologetic recommendation, we’ve put our drinking caps on for you and singled out Sydney’s top 3 bars that will satisfy any mood.

The Commons

Where: 32 Burton Street, Darlinghurst
Perks: Great atmosphere & the bartenders know their spirits

Once an old farmhouse situated next to the dairy and convicts common gardens, this charming sandstone building has been making history for over 160 years. Today this rare piece of real estate has been converted into a cosy downtown bar where locals and tourists can escape the “hustle and bustle” of the city, and cosy up to some live music with a (very well-made) poison of their choice. During the warmer months, it’s encouraged to soak up some vitamin D in the outdoor Victorian-style courtyard.

The Cricketers Arms

Where: 106 Fitzroy Ln, Surry Hills
Perks: Cheap eats & leafy outdoor courtyard

With its charming homespun feel, laidback atmosphere and unpretentious vibe, “The Crix” is a great establishment that ticks all of your booze-loving boxes. Nestled on a quiet street away from the main drag, this place boasts plenty of nice little characteristics, like distressed palettes, antique furnishings and jewel-toned carpeting. But beyond that, there’s a leafy green beer garden that, when aided by good company and a drop of your favourite froth, triumphs its many neighbourhood rivals.

Goros

Where: 84-86 Mary St, Surry Hills
Perks: Too many to name!

Karaoke, classic arcade games, sake and Japanese pub food – what’s not to love about this place? Only a short stroll from Central station, Goros is a drinking playground for the young at heart. Warm up your vocal chords before you hit the booth with a bottomless list of Japanese spirits and kakuteru (cocktails), or treat your palette to three delicious tastings and order the Sake Bomb. If you’re feeling peckish, enter your very own snack palace with a mouth-watering assortment of traditional Japanese street food.
