Launched at this year’s Maison et Objet, the latest additions to the SUPER TEXTURE collection by Tom Dixon includes a variety of new weaves, knits and patterns. There are three new families of textiles – ABSTRACT, PAINT, and GEO – in addition to new color ways to the SOFT and BOUCLE ranges.
Hand-tufted by master craftsmen in Northern India, the ABSTRACT collection of cushions feature a unique grid pattern derived from a cityscape watercolor by textile artist Josephine Ortega. These cushions are made from 100% New Zealand wool and have a thicker and more wooly texture than regular cushions. Their varying loops, tufts and pile heights can only be created by hand and is clearly evident to Tom Dixon’s commitment to quality and superior craftsmanship.
Like paintings on canvas, PAINT comprises of a set of cushions with abstracted and architecturally-inspired watercolors by Josephine Ortega who looked to Britain’s urban landscape for inspiration. The prints are digitally printed, sewn, stuffed and finished in Britain and have a natural linen texture with lightweight viscose for a cozy addition to any armchair.
The embroidery in the GEO range are inspired by nature, specifically its geologies of rock formations and layered sediment. The graphics are embroidered by hand and machine and adds a graphic contrast to the natural linen.
Wine and Khaki join the SOFT range, a series of cushions and pouches made from Dutch woven fabric, South African Angora goat hair and Danish duck feathers.
The brand added Khaki and Electric Blue to the BOUCLE range, made from hand-spun and hand-woven yarn from Rajasthan and wool from New Zealand.
