Up-and-coming Brooklyn-based furniture designer Joseph Chun creates handcrafted wooden pieces that meld together form and function with a little bit of flair under the moniker Joseph C. Furniture. Growing up he saw and experienced several different cultures – from Seoul to Wisconsin, North Carolina to the Korean Army – and now draws inspiration for his work from those memories in order to share his story.
The six pieces currently available work as well together as they do separately, and the pride Chun takes in his craftsmanship is evident. The collection is available to see in person at his studio in Red Hook, and if you’re planning on attending WantedDesign’s Launch Pad May 18-21 you’ll have the chance to see and touch it there as well.
