Faye TooGood’s Textile Doodles Become Abstract Rugs

Faye TooGood’s Textile Doodles Become Abstract Rugs

Most doodles don’t make it outside of a sketchbook or cocktail napkin, but Milan-based rug brand cc-tapis brings Faye Toogood’s to life in a collection of abstract rugs. The British designer invited cc-tapis into her world to check out her personal artwork of textile ‘doodles’. Over the span of a year, the company perfected six rug designs featuring her painterly, abstract aesthetic and aptly named them Doodle. Abstract shapes mix with dark linear details and a watercolor-like texture that result in life-size collages of art for the floors, or walls, of your home.

The Doodles collection is hand-knotted in Nepal with Himalayan wool by Tibetan artisans that use 40 individually dyed colors to achieve each rug’s shading. The unique texture is made from both thick and fine yarns that are hand-cut to create the varying heights and smooth to shaggy piles.
