As Northern celebrates their 15th birthday, they continue to influence choices, aesthetics, and trends regularly – including the current move back towards long-lasting everyday basics. Though simple in design, Northern’s latest pieces don’t lack an ounce of character, with two designs in particular standing out to us.
First up the Mass side table, with its strong sculptural silhouette and unique shape. The piece of furniture is more functional than first glance, with openings for storage and everyday items incorporated into its design by Roee Magdassi. Attractive from every angle, Mass is constructed from two sheets of metal that are folded into one design through cutting, curving, and welding to create a seamless shape and surface. Available in brass, stainless steel, and a black-painted finish.
A new addition to the Oaki family is the comfortable, luxurious Oaki lounge chair. Designed by Stine Aas for maximum comfort with solid oak, its padded leather seat and backrest add a layer of softness aside smooth Japanese joinery techniques. The hides used for each chair are from Argentina, and turned into upholstery by Danish experts Sørensen Leather. The eye-catching Oaki lounge chair is available in three versatile versions – natural oiled oak, smoked oak, or black-painted finish. Each of these options is then available with a selection of leather upholstery.
