2019 Gift Guide: New Homeowners

2019 Gift Guide: New Homeowners

This marks our *16th* and last gift guide for the 2019 holiday season and in case you missed any of them, you can check them all out here. For the final guide, we’re looking to the (most likely) stressed out bunch, not because it’s the holidays, but because they’ve recently moved into a new home. We all know how much work goes into buying or renting a new place – not to mention the money it takes – which led us to scope out 10 gift ideas that would help any new homeowner settle in.

Duo Candlestick from SIN \\\ $58
Candles add that layer of ambience we all strive for in our homes so acquiring a really cool unique candleholder, like this handmade one constructed from terracotta ceramic, would be a really nice gift for someone in new digs.

Dorothy Cotton Throw from Studio Herron \\\ $195
Cozy is a vibe all new homes and their owners deserve and dressing up a boring couch when not in use is a great way to start. It’s bound to make the recipient happy while relaxing under it after unpacking all those boxes.

Bottle Opener from Taku Shinomoto of S/N \\\ $65
Enjoying a nice, cold beverage after setting up house sounds like a great idea until it’s discovered there’s no bottle opener anywhere to be found. It’s one of those necessary items that often falls through the cracks by thinking you already own one or you did and it’s gone missing.

Mini Hand Brush and Dustpan from Andrée Jardin \\\ $48
This is one of those items that falls under ‘money well spent’ as it easily pays for itself over time with all the messes it cleans up. The handheld set will work overtime sweeping up all those piles of debris, like crumbs, that don’t merit a regular sized broom and dustpan.

Bouton Hand-Cast Black Concrete Trays from UME \\\ From $35
Trays are one of those multipurpose gifts you can’t go wrong with as they have an endless array of uses. These concrete trays come in three sizes, which can be purchased individually or as a set, offering the recipient many options for how to use them.

Jumbo Shape Pot – Primary from Not Work Related \\\ From $50
This playful black pot dons a series of geometric shapes finished in primary colors that are bound to jazz up any basic plant that may take up residence in it.

Bente Five-Piece Bathroom Set from Kohler \\\ $144
Maybe not 100% a necessity but it sure is nice to have a polished looking bathroom for your own piece of mind and for when visitors are over. This set contains all the essentials while looking sophisticated on any counter.

6-in-1 Hammer & Screwdriver \\\ $28
For those people who are just moving into their first place and might not have a toolbox filled with necessities, like a hammer and a screwdriver – two tools you really can’t live without. This design throws it all into one with three screwdrivers that hide within the hammer making it convenient and easy to store. If you want to take it a step further, throw in a Toyo Steel Tool Box they can keep it in.

The Pool Jewelry Box from DOIY \\\ $45
Give that new homeowner a modern spot to keep their favorite jewels. Inspired by a swimming pool, this minimal box gives nod to the Memphis movement while giving small accessories a soft place to land at the end of the day. The tiny pink diving board isn’t just cute, it’s there to hold a necklace when opened.

The Game of Creativity Card Game Volume 1 \\\ $20
And lastly, after the unpacking is done, give your recipients something fun to do with a card game that will have adults and kids using their imagination and creativity.
