Chicho Cheon’s Colorful Criteria

Chicho Cheon’s Colorful Criteria

Have a look at Korean designer Chicho Cheon’s new project, Criteria. Constructed from corrugated cardboard, cement, and lacquer, it was inspired by the homeless who reside inside boxes at Seoul Station. They got Cheon thinking about the one-dimensional difference between those with homes and those without – the cement walls of the Station. Something most of us take for granted in the everyday makes a world of difference to those without shelter, though a similar social structure occurs within both communities. Cheon is proposing a new standard using different materials to create a new criteria for how we are viewed through color, form, and function.
