Office of Tangible Space, a design studio co-founded by Michael Yarinsky and Kelley Perumbeti, transformed a 1000-square-foot loft into the offices of New York City-based online art gallery, Uprise Art. Operating as part workspace and part showroom, the new SoHo office space is filled with natural light and functional objects that were commissioned from Uprise Art artists. Original details, like the exposed brick and tin ceiling, were painted white to make the ideal backdrop for the artwork and modern elements used throughout.
Straightaway, a curved table with a stone top and oak tambour base greets visitors upon entry. A similar wood design on the side wall makes up a 20-foot-wide shelving system where sculptural objects are displayed. The shelf’s design features varying depths thanks to the mixture of curved and linear edges which allow for pieces of all sizes.

A lounge area provides space to hold meetings in a comfortable setting instead of a conference room. A wall made of fir wood warmly contrasts the stark white walls while creating a cozy nook for a sofa, two chairs and coffee table. A sculptural light by Uprise Art artist Angel Oloshove hangs in the corner emitting a warm glow through its cutouts.
A pair of benches designed by Adam Frezza and Terri Chiao add color and whimsy to the space.
