Fifteen leading textile designers from around the world were invited to add their personal touch to the fabric of the iconic 675 chair, originally created by British designer Robin Day. Case Furniture, in partnership with Heal’s and the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation, initiated the A Day to Remember project, which will help fund and improve the future of young British designers.
The bespoke fabric designs, along with the launch of two new fabric ranges by Case, are part of a three-week window display and in-store presentation at Heal’s flagship store that will run from 1st to 21st August 2019. Afterwards, the chairs will be auctioned off online, with all proceeds going directly to the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation.

Day is best known as one of the most acclaimed British furniture designers of the 20th century, whose work helped shape the post-World War II furniture industry. With his wife, Lucienne Day, he introduced new materials like plywood and polypropylene to the industry to bring contemporary design to a larger audience at more affordable prices. In 2014, Case launched an authentic new production of Robin Day’s 675 chair, that was originally designed in 1952.
