Heatworks Tetra Countertop Dishwasher Washes Away Anything Deemed Dirty, Efficiently

Heatworks Tetra Countertop Dishwasher Washes Away Anything Deemed Dirty, Efficiently

Is that a micro-dishwasher filled with sex toys? Why yes it is…an example of the functional versatility of a Heatworks Tetra Countertop Dishwasher, a compact appliance capable of washing items as varied as a collection of sexual aids, baby bottles, stemware, or anything else deemed dishwasher-safe and small enough to fit within its unique transparent design. And it does so with dimensions that will certainly appeal to those short on space – small apartment dwellers, students in dorms, RV travelers, or even within older homes without a dishwasher installed [raises hand] – all without the need for plumbing hookup.

We first became acquainted with the Heatworks Tetra Countertop Dishwasher back in 2018 when the inventors staked out a booth at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas peddling the possibilities of a “Wi-Fi Connected Countertop Dishwasher“. They continued since then to evolve the tankless design into a stand-alone dishwasher borrowing a page – for good and for worse – from ink jet printers, utilizing a proprietary Tetra Detergent Cartridge System with pre-filled amounts of pre-wash, enzymes and rinse aids, each lasting over 20 loads.

Of course, there’s an app because…well, because everything seems to be trending toward controlling and monitoring all our tasks by phone. Alongside monitoring the unit during operation, the Tetra’s app is set to remind users when the time has arrived to order a new cartridge when sensors determine only fives washes remain. To Heatworks’ credit, replacement packs are priced at a reasonable $8.99, though like most pod or cartridge based systems we’d much prefer a user-refillable option to reduce/eliminate plastic waste.

When a load is completed, the contents of the grey water tank can be disposed by removing the lid and dumping out the wash water into the sink or safely into ornamental gardens.

Beyond its contemporary industrial design, the Heatworks Tetra Countertop Dishwasher stands out for its capability of washing up to 3 complete place settings with only 3 liters of water – an efficiency rating which definitely caught our attention as voluntary reduction of water use may soon become mandatory in our state of California (as increasingly elsewhere).

With dimensions of 17.3″w x 17″h x 15.75″d and weighing in at 25lbs, the Tetra falls within the realm of permanent-portable, the sort of appliance most users will probably find a space for and keep there stationary forevermore, but will have the option to easily move if needed.

Heatworks is currently accepting preorders for $399, with a ship date scheduled for May 18th, 2022. More info here.
