The new Thompson Savannah is now open, marking Hyatt Hotels’ first property in Georgia. With architecture by Smallwood and interiors by Studio 11 Design, the hotel captures the spirit and lure of Southern living, with its rattan and wood tones, botanical accents, and rich jewel colors. With the property set along the banks of the beautiful Savannah River, Thompson Savannah gives visitors a modern experience of Southern hospitality.
The hotel offers 193 guest rooms, including 21 suites. Because of the intentional direction of the guest tower, all rooms have views of the west-facing cityscape or east-side Savannah River. The rooms feature spacious walk-in showers, residential-style vanities, in-room mini bars, custom art curated by Lou Verne (Studio 11 Design’s art, curation and styling vertical), and custom bath amenities by D.S. & Durga.
Velvety upholstery, dark wood and leather accents create the quiet, refined aesthetic familiar with Thompson Hotels while the artwork and prints highlight the local creativity.
For food and fare, the hotel’s executive chef Robert Newton leans on his Southern roots to cook up the menus for Fleeting, the signature restaurant; Bar Julian, the Mediterranean-influenced rooftop bar; Sunroom, the art-deco poolside lounge, as well as the in-room dining and banquet programs.
