wemo: Wearable Memos That Wrap Around Your Wrist so You Never Forget

wemo: Wearable Memos That Wrap Around Your Wrist so You Never Forget

Do you ever get home from the grocery store only to realize you forgot one important thing? Are you working a job where you have to remember critical details at a moment’s notice? Or do you ever find yourself writing on your hand to remind you to do something later? Japanese design firm Kenma aims to solve all of that with wemo, silicone wearable memos that wrap around your wrist.

If you’re old enough to remember slap bracelets from the late 80s, perhaps this idea seems familiar, except this time they’re more than just decorative. The designers were inspired by nurses and how they frequently have to jot down notes on their hands while working. After doing much research, they discovered nursing isn’t the only profession that could use a convenient spot to take notes. Outside the medical field, people working in manufacturing, construction, production, law, at disaster sites, etc., along with teachers or anyone giving a lecture, might need a place to write info or to reference it. Plus, think about how useful it could be with an older person or something with dementia who struggles to remember things.

You can write on a wemo with a permanent marker and easily erase it by rubbing it off with your finger or an eraser. The best part is that it won’t wipe away your notes if it gets wet! You can wash your hands or work underwater while it’s on and not worry about losing important info.
