A 1970s Sausalito Home Is Renovated by Feldman Architecture

A 1970s Sausalito Home Is Renovated by Feldman Architecture

After a newly retired couple visited Sausalito, California, on their way from Hong Kong to South America, they decided to plunk down roots and buy a 1970s home, now called Sausalito Outlook, overlooking the San Francisco Bay. They hired Feldman Architecture to update the outdated interior and help them put their own unique stamp on it, which included making room for their collections of vinyl records, design books, and vintage Coca-Cola bottles.

In the main living area, they removed a wall to open the space up and added a 9 foot tall shelving system to hold their books.

The floor-to-ceiling shelving unit continues down the wall and transitions into storage for their vinyl.

The library replaced two spare bedrooms and is connected to a sitting room with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the views.
