HELIA Concrete Mesh Light Fixtures by Dror Kaspi for ARDOMA Design

HELIA Concrete Mesh Light Fixtures by Dror Kaspi for ARDOMA Design

Products made from concrete can sometimes end up looking clunky and unrefined as it’s often difficult to get the material to work on a more delicate design. Dror Kaspi, the designer behind ARDOMA Design, has a history of pushing the boundaries when it comes to what concrete can do and his latest is no exception. HELIA is a pendant and table light with a unique, mesh-like structure that mimics woven concrete, which was inspired by the mesmerizing sunflower seed pattern of Fibonacci spirals.

Inspiration

The bi-directional spirals of the seed pattern became a challenge to figure out how to make concrete replicate its delicate nature. They developed a special concrete mixture along with new method of casting to achieve the finished results which allow light to escape through its small perforations. At first glance it’s hard to images the pendants are concrete, right?

HELIA comes in light grey, dark grey, white, yellow, blue, and red concrete.
