Design Without Borders: Bringing Together Designers from Around the World

Design Without Borders: Bringing Together Designers from Around the World

With almost 100 designers from 11 different countries, Design Without Borders launched this past March in Budapest. This exhibition, which is presented by 12th madeinhungary + 5th MeeD, showcases furniture, textiles, home and design objects by designers from Lithuania, Norway, Poland, and Hungary, to name a few.

Some products exhibited are one-of-a-kind, while some are made in small numbers or even mass produced. The criteria for the pieces to be exhibited was that each object had to be inventive, refreshingly new, and have a unique point-of-view.

The organizers of the showcase also founded the Design Without Borders Award to recognize the efforts of the participant in the fields of design. Entries are based on originality, innovation, and design content and were presented during the opening ceremony.
