The Suyo Table Light Is 3D Printed, Practical, and Thoughtful

The Suyo Table Light Is 3D Printed, Practical, and Thoughtful

The Suyo Table Light, taking its title from the Spanish word for “yours,” investigates people’s connections with the things around them. McKay Nilson designed the 3D-printed lamp for the lighting company Gantri. It has an opening in the base and a bowed head—a shape inspired by the gesture a person makes when giving an object to another.

With this light, McKay Nilson brings together the functionality of light and storage with more formal, thoughtful qualities to create a piece that’s both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

The Suyo light is printed in white, coral, and gray at Gantri’s California facility, where they 3D print using a corn-based PLA material, making the process better for the environment.
